Learning and certification in 2025 and beyond
By Jack McKenna, STLE President | TLT President's Report April 2025
STLE gives you all the resources you need to succeed.

Like many of you, the very first thing I did at my inaugural STLE annual meeting was to attend an education course on a Sunday morning. I listened with rapt attention to the verbal support of slides and transparencies (yes, it was that long ago). This was the start of my lifelong learning in all things lubricant related. I make a point to attend as many technical sessions and Commercial Marketing Forum presentations as I can fit into my schedule at these meetings in my quest to pursue ongoing education in our field. While many of you are doing the same thing, are you aware of our other educational content?
STLE’s Learning Management System features a variety of both live and on-demand educational resources specific to what you need to learn or enhance your professional development. This platform features opportunities to accrue learning experiences and expand your skillset through on-demand webinars, short courses, recognized industry certification exam opportunities and member-exclusive STLE Industry Insight sessions.
STLE is here to help, as we see the value in learning and continue to evolve the catalog to keep you updated with the most current trends while solidifying your foundational skills. Here are a few opportunities you will find on this platform:
•
Over 64 pre-recorded on-demand webinars
•
Related certification exam sample questions and relevant articles included with each webinar
•
A library of five short courses, with new ones to be added later this year
•
Access to all certification exams and exam prep materials
•
Life cycle assessment (LCA) three-part course presented by Carbon Minds and STLE
A certificate is issued for each item that is successfully completed. All STLE members get a significant discount on all educational content as well.
This is just a small part of STLE’s overall educational offering. To find the STLE educational content that’s right for you, visit
www.pathlms.com/stle. If you want to learn more or have questions, reach out to Bob Morowcyznski, STLE director of professional development, at

Also, where can all this quality education lead you? What about proving what you know by taking the STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist™ (CLS), STLE Certified Oil Monitoring Analyst I™ (OMA I) or STLE Certified Metalworking Fluids Specialist™ (CMFS) exams? We at STLE are happy to certify that you know what you need to know so you can be the best supplier to your customers or solve problems in your own business. Our slogan is Connect, Learn, Achieve—the last two are highlighted here. Come see me at the 2025 STLE Annual Meeting, May 18-22, in Atlanta, Ga., so we can connect as well.
