Boost your career with STLE

By Rebecca Lintow, CAE, Executive Director | TLT Headquarters Report June 2024

STLE membership offers the tools that early career professionals need to reach their goals.

No matter what career stage you are in, STLE membership offers a wealth of benefits. For early career professionals, member resources can provide the technical training, career support and personal growth opportunities that put your goals within reach. STLE membership is a low-cost investment with high professional rewards!

If you are reading this issue of TLT at the 2024 STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Minneapolis, Minn., you are enjoying a benefit that members receive in the mail every month. In addition to the print version of TLT, members receive special access to a TLT Bonus Content article every month in the TLT Archives. Becoming a member today would give you access to more than two years of TLT Bonus Content articles. If you are already a member, be sure to check out the latest TLT Bonus Content at www.stle.org/TLTBonusContent

What other member benefits are included in the STLE value proposition? Here are just a few:

Local Sections. When you become an STLE member, you have the opportunity to join an STLE Local Section, where you can expand your peer network, learn new skills and contribute to your professional growth in the industry. Local Sections offer STLE benefits and resources close to home, and at no extra cost.

Networking. Collaborate and network with colleagues around the world, all of whom are committed to sharing and connecting with you. The STLE Annual Meeting is the most anticipated networking opportunity of the year, and members receive a discount on registration that more than pays for itself.

Volunteering. Give back to the industry and develop your leadership skills as an STLE volunteer. There are opportunities for even the busiest professionals to participate. For more on volunteering, read the April 2024 Headquarters Report here or visit www.stle.org/volunteer.

Certifications and education. STLE offers four technical certification programs: Certified Lubrication Specialist™ (CLS), Certified Metalworking Fluids Specialist™ (CMFS) and Certified Oil Monitoring Analyst I and II™ (OMA I and II). Becoming STLE certified not only verifies your technical expertise, but it also demonstrates your professional dedication to your employer, customers and peers. STLE certification is earned through education, experience and a challenging program of examinations. While certifications are open to nonmembers, members receive a significant discount on registration.

Industry Insights. These special members-only online sessions provide an opportunity to collaborate with your STLE industry peers and an expert on a certain topic who will give a brief presentation, then facilitate conversation by asking discussion questions and providing actionable takeaways. Connect with your STLE member colleagues in a casual and meaningful way in a virtual environment.

Special publications. Members receive free access to an increasing library of STLE special publications, including the 2023 STLE Report on Emerging Issues and Trends in Tribology and Lubrication Engineering and Tribology and Lubrication for E-Mobility: Findings from the 3rd STLE Conference on Electric Vehicles. These industry reports and technical resources keep members updated on the latest cutting-edge developments in tribology and lubrication.

This is just a glimpse at what STLE membership can offer you. For more information on how to leverage the full advantage of your STLE membership, see the Member Benefits Guide at www.stle.org/joinnow or email membership@stle.org. We hope you will continue to Connect, Learn and Achieve with us!
