What’s new at the STLE Annual Meeting

The 78th STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition, May 19-23 in Minneapolis, Minn., is just around the corner. This year, STLE’s premier event will feature some exciting new events and offerings alongside the technical education and networking that have always made the annual meeting so valuable to attendees.
This year, STLE is proud to report an increase in collaboration between industry and academia as well as an uptick in international collaboration in its technical sessions. Electric vehicles and machine learning are broadly represented in the schedule, keeping attendees updated on the latest emerging trends in these key technical areas.
New STLE education courses on cutting- edge topics, including machine learning, engine and drivetrain requirements and more advanced topics in electric vehicles, will prepare attendees for the future of the industry. For more information on these and other course offerings, visit

The STLE Sustainability Committee will present a Sustainability Panel on Monday, May 20, from 5-6 p.m. CT. STLE technical advisor Dr. Neil Canter, with Chemical Solutions, will moderate the free panel, which will feature a Q&A with top industry experts involved in various aspects of sustainability, such as standards, regulations, technologies and best practices. They will provide an update on progress being made on sustainability in their respective areas, and included will be an update on the work that the STLE Sustainability Committee has been conducting since its formation in November 2023.
On Tuesday, May 21, from 5-6 p.m. CT, STLE will host a Women in Tribology Panel. This free-to-attend panel, open to all STLE Annual Meeting registrants, will focus on women in the industry with an emphasis on career paths and advice. There will be opening speakers along with interactive discussion with panelists. Please join and share your questions, thoughts and experiences on bringing more women into the industry and helping advance their careers. Also debuting at the 2024 STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition is the new STLE Mobile App. Be sure to download the app, available for Apple and Android, to track your itinerary, view abstracts and receive important updates in Minneapolis.
