Victoria Parker,
Research Chemist
Sasol

What is your role at your organization?
I work in Research and Development to develop and understand the benefits of a variety of additives in metalworking and lubrication formulations.

What products or services does your organization provide?
We have a broad portfolio of alcohol structures which can be utilized as raw materials for the metalworking and lubricants industry. We also utilize this portfolio for interesting derivative raw material opportunities such as emulsifiers, ECAs, esters, etc.

How long have you been a member of STLE?
I have been with STLE for 7 years. I have been a part of the Grease committee and continue to help chair sessions each year at the annual conference. I am also a member of the STLE ambassadors.

How has STLE helped you throughout your career?
I always take a course at the annual conference. These courses help with my continuing education as well as introduce me to new people each year with similar interests in the field.

What is the greatest benefit you get from your STLE Membership?
I enjoy the TLT magazine each month! It's a great way to remain up to date.

What would you say to others looking to get involved with STLE?
Don't be shy to join a committee or initiative that you hear about! Each team I've joined has introduced me to many industry experts who are always willing to help and chat about the industry!
