STLE Early Career Awards

The purpose of the STLE Early Career Awards is to assist STLE student members, young researchers and junior-level academic faculty with financial assistance in attending the STLE Annual Meeting and Exhibition. Eligible candidates may apply by completing the application form to be considered. The deadline for applications is December 1 of each year. Selections announced approximately January 15 of the following year.

This years deadline has been extended to February 2, 2024.

Application Submissions

The deadline to apply for the STLE Early Career Award is December 1 (Extended to February 2, 2024) for the 2024 STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition.
You must be logged in to the STLE website to access the STLE Submittable forms page.  Check your profile to ensure we have all your correct contact information prior to completing your application.  After updating your profile, please visit Submittable to complete the STLE Early Career Award Application.
  
Award Criteria:

Student: At the time of the application deadline, the applicant is currently enrolled and in good standing in a BS, MS, or PhD program at a university. Students graduating in April or May of the same year as STLE will be evaluated in the student category.

Postdoctoral Researcher: At the time of the application deadline, the applicant is currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher at an academic, national lab, or industry setting. The applicant must be within five years of receiving a doctoral degree.

Academic Professional: At the time of the application deadline, the applicant is currently employed as an Assistant Professor (or equivalent) at a degree-granting institution. If the applicant holds a tenure-track position, the applicant must be pre- tenure. If the applicant holds a non-tenure- track position, then the applicant must be within five years of starting employment as an Assistant Professor (or equivalent).

Industry Professional: At the time of the application deadline, the applicant is currently employed at a non-degree- granting institution, such as a corporation or a national lab. The applicant must be within five years of starting his/her post-PhD employment.
